Prof. Deep Medhi from the University of Missouri – Kansas City today gave a lecture on ‘Evolution of the internet and its future’ at the University’s Conference Hall.
Prof. Medhi is a Curators’ Professor (and past Head) of Computer Science & Electrical Engineering Department, School of Computing and Engineering at the University of Missouri – Kansas City. A graduate from Cotton College, Gauhati University, Prof. Medhi
has to his credit MS degree from Delhi University, MS and PhD degrees in Computer Sciences from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He had been a member of the technical staff in the traffic network routing and design department at the AT&T Bell Laboratories, Holmdel, New Jersey. Currently, he is also an adjunct professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering at IIT, Guwahati.
In his lecture today, Prof. Medhi touched upon topics like – Development of networks with improved protocols, Routing Policy in the Global Internet, Denial of Service (DoS) and Need for Locator/ID Separation in the ever increasing users of the internet.
