Mass Communication students along with Fr C.M. Paul and Mr Kaushik Bhuyan had two hour session at the Regional Office (East & Northeast) of the Coconut Development Board (CDB), Ministry of Agriculture Government of India at Guwahati, 22 January 2015.

The CDB Director Mr Rajeev P. George briefed the students about the various activities and schemes to promote coconut cultivation in the region as a livelihood project.

After an extensive visit of CBD facilities and interaction with a group of trainees from Bongaigaon who were learning to make coconut chips, pickle, jam, sorbet, and cookies, Mr Rajeev invited the students to help with creation of promotional and publicity material in Assamese language for the ongoing awareness and training programs.

He also extended his cooperation by way of transport and accommodation for video and radio productions to create awareness and promote the cultivation of coconuts in the region.

He has also offered very tempting internship opportunities for the students.
