On 6th October 2023, the Department of Public Administration hosted an interactive session on “Administrative Services- Experience and Challenges” to provide glimpses of real-life experiences and challenges in administration. The resource person was Mr. Nishkam Diwakar, OSD to Governor of Assam.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Nishkam Diwakar emphasized the importance of a vigilant staff to facilitate administrative functions efficiently. He also suggested that civil servants must hold public hearings from time to time to make administration more citizen-centric. The talk was followed by question-and-answer session where students raised thought provoking questions resulting in a lively and fruitful session.
The event was concluded with an address by the Vice Chancellor, Father Jose Palely. He highlighted the changing dynamics of a public administration and the importance of preparing oneself as a problem-solver. The programme ended with felicitation of the resource person.
