The Department of Commerce organized an Industrial Visit to North East Nutrients Private Limited (NENPL), Mangaldoi, Darrang on 25th February 2023 for the students of Master of Commerce, accompanied by Dr. Biju Mani Das, Head, Department of Commerce and Dr. John Mang Muan Lian Zou, Asst. Professor of the Department.
On arrival, Mr. Keshab Jha, Senior HR of NENPL briefed the students on NENPL and its operational functions. Mr. Sanjiv Kanu, Assistant Finance Manager then gave a talk on accounts and finance of the industry, followed by a talk by Mr. Saurav on different cost related factors and about the operations. Students then visited manufacturing and production unit including raw material storage unit and were shown how flour and sugar are sieved and witnessed various processing units.
NELPL is a joint venture of ITC Ltd and SRD Group. It is 80% automated food processing industry producing Sunfeast biscuits established in 2015. It is one of the best food plants in North East India having cultured working environment.
