The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering conducted a felicitation and interaction programme with Mr. Kuldeep Deka, an alumnus of the Department who recently cracked APSC – CCE Exam for Inspector of Excise under Government of Assam on 8th February 2024.

Mr. Deka, hailing from the picturesque Tezpur district of Assam, secured an impressive 12th rank in in the exam. Speaking at the felicitation ceremony, the Head of the EEE department, Dr. Bikramjit Goswami, expressed his appreciation on behalf of the entire department while Professor Laskar extends her best wishes to Mr. Deka as he embarks on his public service duties, urging him to uphold dignity and care for the people.

In an engaging interaction with the current B.Tech. 6th semester students of the department, Mr. Deka shared insights from his preparation strategy, saying, “Begin your APSC preparation early, allowing ample time to focus on weaker areas. Understand the APSC Exam pattern thoroughly and choose your subjects for preparation wisely. But most importantly, create a personalized study schedule, making sure to allow enough time for each topic and to include regular review sessions”.

While replying to one of the students queries regarding current affairs preparations, Mr. Deka emphasized with gravity, “Updating your knowledge of current events will help you comprehend general studies subjects more thoroughly. In addition, you should practise answering questions in writing to enhance your articulation and time management abilities. The APSC exam assesses candidates’ awareness of the world around them, their ability to analyze current events, and their capacity to make informed decisions. An administration official needs to take the right decision for the city, state and country as a whole and has multiple responsibilities. The decision can make or spoil the community at large; so knowing about the current happenings, public servants can take the right decision”.

Mr. Kuldeep Deka’s achievement adds another feather to the EEE department’s cap. He joins a select group of alumni who have cleared the APSC-CCE, reinforcing the university’s commitment to excellence. It is worthwhile to mention that Mr. Kuldeep is the fourth alumnus from EEE department who has cleared APSC CCE.
