The International Conference on Emerging and Environment Sustaining Renewable Energy (ICEESRE-2024) was inaugurated today in Assam Don Bosco University, Azara Campus, bringing together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals from around the world. The event, which will run for two days, aims to address pressing global challenges in environmental sustainability and energy systems through innovative research and collaborative efforts.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including chief guest Prof. Sisir Kumar Nayak, IIT Guwahati who delivered the keynote address. In the speech, Prof. Nayak emphasized the importance of international collaboration in addressing environmental issues and advancing energy technologies. Guest of Honour Prof. Wei-Te Chen, MIRDC, Taiwan said, “Conferences like ICEESRE-2024 serve as a platform for sharing knowledge and fostering solutions that can help us achieve a sustainable future.”
The opening ceremony also featured a welcome address by Fr. Joseph Nellanatt, Pro. Vice Chancelor of Assam don Bosco University who highlighted the objectives of the conference and the significance of the chosen theme. Prof. Manoranjan Kalita, Director, SoT underscored the role of interdisciplinary research in tackling challenges such as climate change, renewable energy integration, and resource management. The Convenor of the conference, Dr. Papul Changmai informed that the presented papers will be submitted to Springer for publication in Lecture Notes on Electrical Engineering (LNEE) as a book Chapter. Moreover, he informed that they have received an amount of Rs. 3 Lakhs from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) as a conference Grant.
Following the inauguration, the conference began its first plenary session, featuring presentations on topics such as advancements in renewable energy technologies, strategies for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and the latest developments in environmental monitoring. Over the course of the event, ICEESRE-2024 will host multiple technical sessions, and panel discussion covering a wide range of subjects, including sustainable energy policies, waste management, and clean water technologies.
The conference has attracted participants from more than four countries (India, USA, Taiwan, Iraq etc.), reflecting its status as a truly international event. More than 25 research papers are scheduled to be presented, with contributions from leading academic institutions, research organizations, and private sector representatives. The organizers expressed their hopes that the outcomes of ICEESRE-2024 will lead to impactful collaborations, driving progress in environmental and energy research. The conference is set to conclude with a closing ceremony. ICEESRE-2024 promises to be a significant step forward in the global quest for sustainable solutions to environmental and energy challenges.
