The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), Delhi, organizes a two-day workshop on iHED – International Higher Education Dialogue Pathways to Internationalisation between Europe and India on 14 – 15 October 2024, in partnership with Assam Don Bosco University for Heads of International Offices at Higher Education Institutions.

The resource persons – Dr. Katja Lasch, Director, DAAD India, Ms Juliane Terpe, University of Applied Sciences Dresden, Ms Katharina Pingel, University of Leipzig and Shikha Sinha, DAAD India took turn in presenting various topics and strategies during these two day-workshop.

The workshop focussed on structural framework conditions for internationalization, implementation of contracts for international cooperation, and structures to support and manage international cooperation projects.  The National Education Policy (NEP 2020) of India sets the legal framework for key reforms of the higher education systems and highlighted for the first time the importance of international cooperation in higher education and research. Mention may also be made that under India’s G20 Presidency in 2023, one priority area of the G20 education working group is building capacities and strengthening research through stronger and more productive international collaboration. The workshop is being offered by German experts and is expected to bring more practical insights to leverage the framework of the NEP 2020 and the priority area incepted in the G20 summit.

During the workshop participants had brainstorm interactive sessions, developed ideas for internationalisation strategies, and were given insight into international cooperation project management. The formats of the workshop were presentations, group work, and brainstorming sessions., etc. will be offered by German experts.
