The Department of Mass Communication hosted an event, “Celebrating Women Entrepreneurs of North East“, on 25th September 2024.

Dr. Akshata Narain, Group President of AM Television Pvt Ltd and Founder of Upstream Media, delivered the keynote address. She emphasized the significance of a strong business foundation, vision, mission, and values for aspiring entrepreneurs. Highlighting women’s emotional intelligence (EQ), Dr. Narain encouraged women & students to lead with resilience and innovation, filling gaps in the market with creativity and purpose. The session concluded with a lively question-and-answer hour, giving students a chance to engage directly with the speaker that leaves the students motivated to explore entrepreneurial paths.

As part of the event, a Business Fair cum Exhibition was organized with the aim of promoting and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students. A total of 17 stalls were set up by the students, showcasing and selling a variety of products. The initiative was undertaken by students enrolled in the Media Management & Entrepreneurship course, under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Rupam Kr. Das. This event was an integral component of their classroom practicum, providing hands-on experience in entrepreneurship and business management.
