Aligned with the preventive system of education prevalent in Don Bosco institutions world-wide, the University organized a two day Staff Development Programme on “Mentoring and Counselling…key to holistic education” on 17-18 February, 2017.

The Programme had the following objectives:
1. Understand the concepts of mentoring and counselling and how to apply these processes, strategies and intervention across the board – with students and stakeholders, and within systems
2. Develop an increased awareness of one’s own cultural lens and how it impacts the mentoring and counselling process
3. Present aspects of developmental processes, wellness and prevention tactics that are the foundations of effective mentoring and counselling
4. Facilitate the establishment of constructive, safe and ethical relationships with students and other stakeholders

The two day programme facilitated by Prof (Fr) George Palamattathil saw enthusiastic participation from the Vice Chancellor, Pro- Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Controller of Examinations and the University Staff.
